GOOD FRIDAY. 2nd April. CELEBRATION OF THE PASSION OF THE LORD 3 pm (S) with reading of The Passion, the Solemn Intercessions, Adoration of the Cross (by Celebrant) and reception of Holy Communion.
HOLY SATURDAY 3rd April. 9 pm. THE EASTER VIGIL. 9 PM. Our Lady and St. Kenelm, Stow. The service starts outside in the dark, with the blessing of the New Fire and the lighting of the Pascal Candle. The faithful carry lighted candles into Church. Then follows the readings describing the history of our salvation. After this we process to the Font for the Baptism of Beth and the Renewal of our Baptismal Vows. Then follows the first triumphant Mass of Easter. The missal says: ‘Anyone who participates in the Mass of the night may receive Communion again at Mass during the day’.
